This summer, Project Timothy welcomed 22 students to the Rocky Mountains from all over the region, including Texas, Idaho and California. In 5 short days, we packed in practical leadership training from speakers like Wendy English co-pastor of the Windsor Campus of Vineyard Church of the Rockies, Becca Knudsen and Danielle Pathak from the Mile High Vineyard, and Josh Hopwood, Director of the Heroic Leadership Institute: Denver Campus. The students participated in three outreach events, reaching out to the community of Fort Collins, including an outreach experience that they developed and executed themselves.  They spent time leading small groups, learning the highs and lows of intimate leadership. They also had nightly sessions focusing on the heart of a leader, hearing from speakers like Rick Olmstead and Jay Pathak. And of course, they spent time playing in the Rocky Mountains: swimming in Horsetooth Reservoir and hiking in the foothills.

However, beyond the ‘what’ of the conference, were the stories. A student’s hip got healed. Another felt the calling from God to become a youth pastor. Another heard the audible voice of God calling out “You are my son”, healing the hurt caused by abandonment. All of the Project Timothy students received prophetic words from the prayer community of the Vineyard Church of the Rockies. They all learned about the ancient practice of Lectio Devina and spent time in silence, listening the Voice of God. A few students testified to coming to Project Timothy at the end of their faith, giving God “one last shot” before they walked away. God seized their hearts and they renewed their faith. Lives were changed, leaders were equipped and God was glorified in a young generation.
