Overview
What better way to get to know Jesus than to study what he said about himself? In this 6 week series, we give Jesus a chance to tell us what He is like in His own words as recorded in the seven “I am” statements found in the Gospel of John. As you go through these statements, our hope is you’ll come to know Jesus more fully and give your life more fully and joyfully to him.

WEEK 1: I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE
Jesus is the one who provides for all our needs. We often try to fulfill our desires or needs in the wrong way. In this first lesson we talk about how when we bring those things to Jesus we find that He is more than able to provide for us and to satisfy the longings of our heart.
WEEK 2: I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Do you ever feel like you don’t know where to go or what to do? In this life we are going to face troubles. We will face battles. In week 2 we look at how in every battle, hardship or trouble that Jesus calls us into, we know that Jesus will be our guide and our protector.
WEEK 3: I AM THE GATE & GOOD SHEPHERD
Jesus is different from any other leader that we have seen. In week 3 we discuss that Jesus has total authority over all things and at all times. What He did with that authority is voluntarily sacrifice Himself for our benefit. We also discuss that Jesus is our way into the family of God.
WEEK 4: I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE
The world that we’re in doesn’t have a lot of hope, but Jesus comes and offers us His hope and proves that hope real by raising Lazarus, and later in raising Himself. In this week we learn that Christ’s Resurrection is a guarantee that everything He said is true.
WEEK 5: I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE
It was so important to Jesus that we know that He is the way into the family of God that He talks about it more than once. In this week we talk about how God making a way to live with Him through Jesus is not excluding anyone, but rather including anyone. The life God invites us to is greater than any we could know without Him.
WEEK 6: I AM VINE
When we disconnect from God, our spiritual life starts to decay. Sometimes we blame God for being distant from us, when in reality we were the ones who withdrew from God. In this week we are encouraged to reconnect with God in order that we produce the “fruit” He wants growing in our life.
SPEAKER: Anthony Rodriguez
Anthony is the administrative pastor at Vineyard Community Church North Texas. He and his wife Karina have led in youth ministry in various capacities since 2008, including 9 years as a youth pastor at Vineyard Community Church in Pomona, CA. He has also trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2011 and is unsuccessfully trying to train his daughter Maya in Jiu Jitsu as well. Anthony has a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership from Life Pacific University. He has a passion for the Word of God and seeing teens draw near to their Heavenly Father.
